1. fire up any android app

2. set focus to a text input field where there is a control (typically an X button) to clear the text input field

3. start typing text

4. press on the button to clear the text input field

5. continue typing.

upon the first keystroke after clearing the field, the field is immediately populated with the previously typed text again.

you can easily reproduce this with whatsapp. fire it up and do the necessary to start a NEW conversation. then when you are shown the list of contacts, tap on the magnifying glass icon to do a search. start typing in your search term and then press the X on the right side of the search text box. then continue typing.
