The cellphone is my only clock and sometimes waking up in the middle of the night you want to check the time. Doing a double tap open brings the screen to full brightness which is painful for the eyes anf completely unnecessary.
There should be a gesture to just view the device status (time, battery life, alarm time, time to alarm ...) on a dim screen.alar, grey on black.
