The Jolla phone already has good router functionality. With possibly only minor additions it could become an even better internet-sharing device.
My home router broke down last week and has now been replaced. My Jolla phone took care of business until the new router could be installed. The Jolla phone had a more stable connection and faster throughput while using less energy than the dedicated routers.
It would be nice to have an unlike router user interface to transform the tethering function into a much more interactive internet-sharing experience. Obviously this would only be a 3G/LTE solution. Even with that limitation there could be some useful things that could be done.
Imagine a home router with serious processing power and a touchscreen interface...

Now that new sailfish phones are being released I think it is time to renew the request. I'm waiting for a jolla-C myself so if that phone works for me then the jolla-1 would be up for routing experiments (as it's still too large for my daughter).
