launch the messaging app and type the following SMS to anybody from your contact list
"Ok tomorrow afternoon 2pm is fine."
Once you have finished typing that, tap on the spacebar at least two times (more if you want). The second spacebar does not appear in the UI. It is, however, being registered. You can test this by hitting the backspace key. You will notice the backspace key doing nothing (UI wise) until you have erased all the "invisible" space characters you entered before.
Hitting ENTER DOES put you on a new line. But when you backspace, you will still find there are "invisible" space characters that you need to erase before you reach the full stop just after the word "fine"
