there is suggestion from person who heavy use jolla just for calls:

make option settings for People/Phone app: Clear search bar after callout

IF (last outgoing call == one of person from search result || last outgoing call == touched person in result if that event is accesible...) THEN Clear search bar in People app;

search results should remains there if current searching was interrupted by incomming call or swipe to another app...
