Store cannot be accessed after 1.1.6.27 update

When I updated to Aaslakkajärvi, the phone apparently crashed during the update (didn't see it as I left it to update overnight). I completed the upgrade using version --dup and now the console shows the correct version and everything works - except that I still get the "System update available" notification and Jolla store refuses access, claiming that "Sailfish OS is being updated".

If I try to check for updates via Settings, it waits for connection for a while and then apparently gives up, saying "Up to date - Last checked 5 days ago". This happens using mobile data as well as wifi at home and at work.

It seems to be related to this problem: https://together.jolla.com/question/96898/can-not-search-for-os-uppdates-after-downloading-early-access/ , but since I didn't use early access and the other poster didn't mention problems with the store I decided to make a new question.
