Hi Jolla, Thank you for the updates and for you work with the tablet. I'm always very happy to see a new update on your blog. Even if it's bringer of bad news for me as a customer. However Would it be possible for jolla to cover taxes(VAT) related to the shipment due to several delays? Personally, I think its would be the right thing to do.

If not, would it be possible to give as the amount or percentage so we know "approximately" the amount today, so we know the total amount of this tablet.

How about covering your monthly expenses for each month of delay.

@ApB Jolla can't afford my expenses ;) it's not about the Tax. It's more that jolla show us their support as well in some way. Invite to release party in Helsinki? coupon for the next jolla phone? exclusive invite to chat session about the tablet? a free beer at pub in Hong Kong? a free jolla T-shirt...

Putting it simple, a company will only survive by making professional decisions. One would be to keep the balance as positive (or as least negative) as possible, also according to a single project. Reducing a planned income deliberately would be a bad move. Investors are already squeezing the blood out of the stone. In the long run we as customers will profit more by a healthy company than by a selflessly generous company.

That's the best answer yet. Thank you! You might be right. It might even be better to lose customers now and in the long run survive, but at the cost of being tiny.

There is also other stuff jolla could come up with...doesn't have to be tax-cut.

they (jolla) are currently making annual loss of 10M€, so there is not much money left for this idea ;-) jolla phone was on time but it was not finished just read the professional comments on it from 2013/2014 this time they have to make it right from the beginning to get really good press delay is for sure the better decision

I guess this one won't get answered here by Jolla, so guiding you to contact care instead

I agree that if the tablet is delayed until point when similar hardware, introduced around the same time with similar price, is sold remarkably cheaper when the shipping starts, Jolla should do something to cover the difference, maybe add some quality accessories into the shipments. But if we'll see any covering, I don't think it'll be related to taxes (for them varying a lot by country).

Percentage you asked is the VAT percentage of your country for consumer devices, and any possible import expenses can also be checked in advance via your national Customs

care are not responseible for business and PR. This not a support issue. (sure, they might know the amout jolla planning to charge county by country)

True.thanks we will see how this will play out and how much money backers have to add.

"upgrading the hardware" is not a good idea at all - they are just finishing the hardware in the original state (with the new scrren, that is). Now doing any additional changes on the hardware would delay shipment at least by 6 month, I would guess....

@Dave999 Not a TJC issue, as Sailors here answers as themselves, not as Jolla representatives (except for with official announcements). Care is able to forward the requests where they belong, or guide you on them

@casanuda You're right, thanks, editing the answer accordingly
