Currently the camera app lacks any settings for video recording.

Give us options for:

Video bitrate Currently set to 12 Mbit. Give us low (8 Mbit), medium (14 Mbit) and High (20 Mbit).

Audio bitrate Currently set to 128 Kbit. Give us low (128 Kbit), medium (160 Kbit) and High (192 Kbit).

Framerate Currently set to 30 FPS, which is bad for Europe, as PAL Standard got 50Hz. Give us 25 and 30 FPS.

Nightmode Currently kicks in automatically and limits FPS to 12. Let us enable/disable automatic nightmode.

Noise cancelation Currently on by default. While this is great for noisy or windy situations, it's very bad for situations like a Concert, etc. where you want to record loud ambience sound. Let us enable/disable noise cancelation.

Better yet, add 50fps and 60fps for video. If lowering the resolution is needed to get to high fps, I'm fine with that. I often prefer 720p@60fps over 1080p@30fps.

Is analog PAL specs in any way relevant any more with digital TVs and interfaces?

Broadcasts in PAL-regions are 50(h)fps, digital or analog, so yeah it can make a difference. Computer displays are mostly 60fps. Movies are 24fps, with some exceptions. And iirc, youtube and the likes use 29.97fps sometimes. Point being: it would be nice to see options.

Here is also one related issue regarding changing video quality: https://together.jolla.com/question/4087/change-picturevideo-aspect-ratioresolution-inside-camera-app/

Additionally the video codec seems to be MPEG4 ASP/h.263, instead of the modern MPEG4 AVC/h.264. Changing that would increase the quality.
