Are Jolla talking to WhatsApp and Dropbox about integration?
I appreciate many other threads on whatsapp and cloud storage, but I was interested to read this this week.
Do Jolla have similar plans? It would be good to understand now that SailfishOS 2 is almost here whether there are any plans for integrating services such as whatsapp officially.
Having the WhatsApp features integrated in the messaging app would be nice, actually I'd like to see all common used chat protocols in it. I installed Skype compatibility from Warehouse and it works nice except for group chats not showing up at all, but getting Facebook back and integrating Telegram and WhatsApp would be awesome. Especially if WhatsApp groups would work.

Canonical (Mr. Shuttlewood) has money. Jolla doesn't have neither users nor money.
Mced ( 2015-09-04 07:26:31 +0200 )editDeep integration of a foreign (other company, which closed source and doesn't offer a well known api) service? From a viewpoint of a developer, this is a really stupid idea. This will fall back an you...telephone is i maintenance or "no support phase" and a simple api, auth or encryption change blows everything up. Or your "contract" with that company is finished after some years.
