Email client not syncing on wifi

The email client of my jolla is acting weird as of now for quite some time. The mail application won;t fetch any email if connected to wifi but when I connect to the mobile data, it works normally. I do have a very limited data plan so I need the client to work on wifi too. O've been seeing this bug for more than a month!

I've gone through every damn combination possible, even went to 1.1.9.28 and reverted back to 1.1.7.28 just to check if it worked. But the only issue is the damn email app won't use data from wifi.
