I want to have a desktop entry without it being actually shown on the launcher. Is that possible? The .desktop file is located at /usr/share/applications. Can I add some key to do this?

Why? I want to make a script visible to the Situation application. Since I don’t plan on using it manually, it’s unnecessary to view it on the application screen.

Background: It’s about the battery charging limitation script provided here by LVPVS.

what about using "shell command" inside Situations instead of "start app"?

Maybe other options like onlyshowin etc. do work!? see "Anatomy of a desktop file"

Was a bit too lazy, it seems. Setting NoDisplay=true does the trick. You can look it up in the other .desktop files lying around in that folder.

After that, one won’t be able to select the Desktop File in the Situation App, but it doesn’t affect existing entries.

you should contact Situations app developer. Nobody know here how it works.
