Setting for left- or right handed use

Hi all,

I have the hands of an average 1,70m man but this is not enough to reach the top left or bottom left corner of the display to start an app with my thumb if I hold it with only one hand and don't want to risk to let it fall.

Why shouldn't it be possible to sort the apps for right handed use from top to bottom and right to left? This way one would be able to reach six apps with his right thumb from top to bottom and one could put the less used stuff to the top left far away from his thumb.

Wouldn't this make the UI faster and safer to use? I believe that many users still use their phone in the car even if they shouldn't do that.

I'm totally agree with this thread.
The problem is for sailfish 2.0 (maybe others) it doesn't fulfilled a comfortable handling for one or the other or both.
That is for me clearly a mix up for right handed and left handed people.

my example would be for the event panel, if one event appears to delete it, we make a long pull and then appears the delete button (cross) on the left side. That's handy for left handed users but not right handed. that made me nervous!!!

hmmm. i am right handed and i use my phone with both hands. that s why i do not use the quick access for events view: would not work with left hand. so i do partly disagree, cause just to switch left and right edge swipe would not work for me neither.

personally i would separate the edge swipes into lower and upper. upper left and right swipe could ie. return to home lower left and right swipe could show event view.

lol, and the event panel would not work for right hand too for some thing. for me delete an event is for left-handed people.

Funny now I am able to use it with the left hand but have problems with the right hand. I try to train my right hand a bit more...
