[sfos 2.0] hold current design & bring back old cover pull-action but with up or down moves [not relevant]
Hello
Until sfos 1.1.x,many of us found the cover right/left pull-action such a powerful function.
And one of identification of sfos.
Now i understand why that is not possible on sfos 2 any more.
But if the horizontal carousel is adopted.
Why not to bring back this old pull-cover action but with up/down moves?
Two buttons, to actions up or down.
Update 24.09.2015:
As told for chemist, That's right the pull-up action for the launcher block this possibility.
why not set the launcher move with a swype-up (means thumb must begin outside the below edge)?
And the a further caraousel panel if the amount of app bigger than 9. Then all the main move will be horizontally.
ps: remember pull action is a swish inside the display, swype action is from outside to inside.
Up and down movement is used to scroll the App Covers in the Home screen. So you would need a press and pull action, which conflicts partially with the press action when closing or rearranging the Covers.

cemoi71 ( 2015-09-24 15:57:18 +0200 )editin which version of sfos this action that you describe is supported? i have the last release for all "1.1.9.28".
"Now i understand why that is not possible on sfos 2 any more." I don't.. Because Marc Dillon has left?
Just let people choose wither they like horizontal, vertical, middle screen, edge swipe for this or that function.
Gestures menu should offer enough space to allow configurable options between tap cover actions and swipe cover actions. All the config utility should do extra is detect totally incomparable combo's and prevent those and inform the user.

Selectable alternative behavior:
So you can simply use the cover actions. It doesnt interfere with horizontal scrolling and it's intuitive cuz widely known from desktop GUIs.

These are the functions I'm talking about and both are in the latest release:
- When you have more than nine Covers on the Home screen, it becomes scrollable
- Long press on the Cover will invoke the closing or rearranging of the Covers/Apps
