[SFOS 2.0] Android Notifications not triggering sound [answered]

Hello everyone,

I just updated to Eineheminlampi and I was looking forward to the "improved Android Notifications" that the changelog promised. Unfortunately, at least for me, they don't seem to work. I use a lot of Instant Messengers (hike, Telegram Plus, Threema) and whilst they do produce a Notification (it appears at the top of the screen), the set Notification Ringtone cannot be heard. Before the update I used the "Android Notification"-App from Openrepos and it did the job for me. So i thought it might have conflicted with the update process and I restored my phone to factory defaults and went through the entire update process again, just to find out that the Notifications still remain silent. I tried a Volume Control App for Android and it showed that the Volume was set to 78%, even cranked it up to 100%, still not a peep from my phone. I also followed the instructions and set a different Ringtone using Zedge. Still nothing. Is there anyone with the same problem or maybe (hopefully) a solution to this?

Welcome to Jolla together, have a look at this thread, I think it should answer your question. In short: Threema, Telegram Plus, hike are not listed in the notification configuration file but you can add em manually. If you need help, I maybe can help you to do the right steps.

Hi,

I have the same problem. Notification messages are shown but neither sound nor LED notifications are working with Threema. I also tried the "Zedge trick" and reinstalled Threema after the update but without success. On my Jolla there seems to be no general problem with respect to Android apps not being able to play sound but sound notifications do not work.

Reading your message at least saved me from the hassle of resetting to factory defaults and reinstalling the whole phone. What is especially annoying ist that everything was working (nearly) perfect before the update.
