Pulley menu & ambiances question

I've not long had this pre-2.0 update and some of it just seems backwards. . . . . . wtf's happened to the top pulley menu? It works when you first unlock the phone, then it disappears once you've moved to another screen/app, and you can't get it back unless you lock the phone and unlock it again, how backwards is that? Who's bright idea was that...... smh

What is the point of putting shortcuts to stuff there to not be able to use it after moving once from the home screen?

And why is there a full breakdown of every ambiance now at the top of the screen? who the f* changes them THAT frequently that you need - at- your-fingertips-at-all-times access to ambiances? Which now incidentally, are a waste of time as one flip of the screen and it all goes black! I'm sick of hearing 'great things are coming to ambiances', seriously, just leave it in settings, cos you can't do anything in the top menu with it but change it or delete it, you can't edit it so why not just leave the fff thing in settings and do it all from there ? this is sending the gestures backwards IMO and swipe down from top to close doesn't close it cos now that's up from the bottom. . . . . .

Then when you unlock you have to pull in from the right to get to the icons that used to be on the home screen where you could keep your most frequently used icons before or use a simple upwards swipe to get to the grid that now takes tow or three steps more to do . . . . . .

It's trying to be all things to all people and it's messy, going from unlike to 'just like'
Oh yeah, the question. . . . . . why? Just why ?

yours sincerely

Re. ambiances: think about them as "profiles" (i.e. not necessarily just a visual theme). Then it all makes sense :)

+1: Can't even lock device e.g. at application layer...pre 2.0 it took me 1 move and now i need to swipe twice plus press a button WTF...what a brilliant idea -.- Sailfish is a completely disaster atm

Totaly agree with you. Ambiances are usless to majority of users + pulley menu from home screen where you could easilly enter settings or silence the sounds was smooth and easy/quick to use. Current way of development is really disapointing and I'm considering to go back to previous version of this OS

That's not an answer, it's not even related to the question, at what point did I say I can't find the app grid? I mentioned the 4 missing icons you used to have on the screen immediately after unlocking, which are now designated to yet another 'function. Moar read less write.

You said that it takes to many steps to get to your favorites thats true, but you can get to every app with 1 swipe (depending on your number of apps) so isn't that better?

I like the way the app grid is accesible, but: 1. The app grid is a bunch of app not the favorites - the cognitive load is higher. 2. To start the app from the grid you need more moves: "pull, release, press the icon" vs "pull, release". Though press is is easier than pull the pulley to the exact position in the perspective of motor load.
