It's very likely that waking double tap is performed near the center of the device screen. So it's also very likely that unlocking swipe will start near the screen center. But there is no enough space to finish unlocking swipe - if one starts his gesture a bit off-center the device will not unlock even if one will move his finger to the very edge of the screen.

That should be tuned somehow: - make required swipe shorter; - give visual feedback on what is right start position of the swipe.

Agreed 100%. Sometimes I have to swipe several times to unlock the screen. Moreover, due to lack of feedback, the device appears not to be respondinb.

yes, another issue that was more elegant & efficient with SfOS 1: just a simple flick upwards

(but that was apparantly too confusing for Android- and iOS-people... I think that potential customers who are that worried about differences to Android/iOS will still not buy a SailfishOS-device, even with SfOS 2... so it's a lose-lose situation: displeasing a big part of the existing loyal user base and still not gaining new customers who simply want an Android/iOS-device...)

Yes, trying to make unlocking easier for new users made things worse for existing users. Unlocking was better for one-handed use and didn't require so much precision in gestures.

Yeah, I've pretty much given up on "tap-tap-swipe" to unlock because it's just too hard, and now simply "click-click" the power button. :) ...which makes me sad because I really loved the button-free user interface of Sailfish. :(

@drcouzelis: as a workaround, you could try this patch: https://openrepos.net/content/nodevel/patch-enhanced-lockscreen
