Clearing events - animated or just slow?

When you clear long-press in the events view and select "Clear notifications" from the pulley menu, the notifications get removed one by one. Is it another one of those silly animations, that makes the phone seem slow, just as the lock-screen and pulley menu animations?

I'm sure it has been fun to code them all, but it is really a bad design choice.

It's slow. I don't mind the animation as such, but it's just too slow.

You can actually leave the notification screen right after you selected "Clear notifications" from the pulley. You are not required to watch the notifications disappear one by one. After you did the pulley selection, you may swipe to home screen (or lock the phone) right away. The notifications will still disappear, even though you did not watch the animation.

So the animation, even though it might take a while to play through, is actually just eye candy w/o negative impact.

I'm aware of that, I'm just very annoyed over all those useless animations, that IMHO only makes the device seem slower than it is.

@Tanghus: But why? Why do you even watch the animations? Swipe away, go on with your life, and your device will not seem to be slower than it is :)

@t-lo: But why? Why are they there at all? They're distracting and useless. The sailors should spend their time on making useful stuff, like fixing bugs instead of making annoying eye candy.

@Tanghus Well, we answered your original question, didn't we? It's just an animation - the notifications do not really require that much time to get cleared, they're not actually slow. The animation can be aborted.

True. My post was mostly yet another pleeeaaase to the Jolla sailors to drop or shorten the animations, as they annoy the heck out of me - and from what I've read a lot of other people.
