scrolling through endless blog entries, long lists or documents can become very cumbersome - calling for a more efficient scroll functionality capable of scrolling context-aware i.e. post-/paragraph-/date- or pagewise ... principally more sophisticated than just jumping to the beginning or end of a note or mail list. Scrolling could also ask after a while : "What are you looking for ?" and initiate a search-scroll ... just to give an idea.

Very helpful for browser window scrolling, SMS/message scrolling or scrolling through Gallery-media ( by jumping days or months ), etc.

^^ I just re-opened the request ( prematurely closed by @chemist on Oct. 6, 2015 ) as in contrast to question #1154 it involves some content-interaction-awareness to deliver a more advanced & comfortable scrolling experience.

It's something the community have been asking for for 2 years. And, as you say, the provided 'solution', jumping to the beginning or end, is hardly satisfactory.
