Upgrading your devices

This is the usual drill before attempting to upgrade your devices,

  • If you use Phonehook from OpenRepos, uninstall it before upgrading.
  • If you use Patchmanager, revert all applied patches before upgrading.
  • Take a backup of your data before attempting to upgrade your device. A successful backup operation is indicated by a green dot in the UI.
  • Do not reboot the device while the update is in progress.
  • The device screen may blank out during the update process, you may waken the display by a short press on the power key to monitor the progress.
  • Do keep the phone connected to a battery charger during the whole process.

For detailed instructions on updating software, visit Zendesk [ https://jolla.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/201836347 ].

If connected to the internet, and your account is subscribed for Early Access releases, your Jolla should receive an OS update notification shortly.

Known issues

  • Google contact sync may sometimes hang up and drain the battery
  • PC connection mode (MTP) does not work with Windows 10 in all cases

The updater hangs on 'checking for updates' after updating to translation-update.

Why the bluetooth tethering is still disabled?

Please include it before public release

EDIT: I mean, it could have been disabled by accident in 1.1.9 release and not fixed due to the hurry with tablet, but now with 2.0 release there has been quite some time to restore the functionality

Or maybe just to differ from tablet - Jolla 2, as in the second product Jolla has made? ;)

raketti ( 2015-10-23 14:23:45 +0300 )edit

@raketti, you're probably right ... but that would be the boring option ... ;)

nick75 ( 2015-10-23 14:39:48 +0300 )edit

Then why they are refering to the tablet as tablet in the notes?

avhakola ( 2015-10-23 18:36:18 +0300 )edit

If I remember right, terms was Jolla Phone, so this change is intresting.

73wjso ( 2015-10-25 18:52:41 +0300 )edit

There's phone, tablet and Jolla 1, so maybe they're just messing with us? :P They do have HW in the pipeline, but nothing has been said when or what kind of HW it will be. So one could speculate that the Jolla 1 would be the phone, and they might have an internal Jolla 2 device, what ever it is, most probably a phone since the tablet is only referred to as Tablet or Jolla Tablet. But, then again, this is just speculation... ;)

I had assumed the new clock cover design would be optional.

:( I'm sorry, but I prefer the old version. And I would very much appreciate it if the analog/digital look was a user-choice in the future...

Apart from that, I applaud this update :D Yay for the twitterfeed.

I noticed a problem with the sw. When I get 1 or more sms from one person and I open from pop-up or from the events view, the messages screen opens but I just see the name of the sender, and the messages are blank, I don't see both the old messages and the new too... Then I go back to the main message screen I again see the new message, and If I open that normal (not from the events screen) , it working properly...

So far I've noticed just this mistakes.

Wow what a fantastic update.

well exept for my silent alarm this morning... needed a restart to get them working again..

but everything else runs like charm.. it got so super fast..

I was waiting for the short cut menu since it was announced so that I don't need my settings app on screen all the time for fast connection changes (I switch between wifi and celluar with only one of them active at the time) or enabling BT or GPS Now it's like in other OS part of the notification Area.

Now I hope for the reworked Ambiance Mechnics with full "profile" support and actions like changing connectivity (I really want an Ambiance which activate BT and when I switch back to my "day" Ambiance to deactivate BT again)

Is this 'early access' available to tablets? I've clicked on the checkbox to be part of the 'early access' group in my account preferences (online), but when I 'check for updates' on my tablet, it doesn't give the option to update to 2.0.

I answered this myself. Yes, it is available to tablets, but you must run every update before before it becomes available.

Sailfish OS v 2.0 everything is good and new. But after that i noticed and facing the problem after update if battery percentage reaches below 45% while using device get's turned off later i need to remove and reinsert battery to start again. And using whatsapp either wifi or data connections it get's sometime to send or receive msgs even if i minimize whatsapp and later i opened after 30mins msgs are sending or receiving, i checked whether the problem with internet but at the same time if i open browser connections are ok. This problem is not with sailfish apps but the problem only with Android apps.
