Had this thing today where waking up the screen (using short power key press or double tap) took anywhere in the 5–30s range. When the screen did turn on, there were repeating "Connection problem" banners that weren't fading out very smoothly. Trying to swipe out of the lock screen didn't respond, screen just eventually turned off again. It didn't improve for several minutes, so had to give it the 10s powerkeypress death grip to recover. 5–8 apps running, nothing too exotic iirc

[EDIT] I changed the order of the title as the main issue is that we can't get inside the phone to change the connection parameters for example. I added the double tap in the first sentence to wakeup the phone.

has happened to me a couple of times also. Both times after a swift from wifi to mobile data connection

Have also seen this once but wasn't near a computer to try and diagnose. Only additional data I can offer is that switching to flightmode doesn't stop the connection notifications.

I have also had often problems where either phone does not immediately turn screen on or lock screen is very unresponsive and might take 5-10 seconds until I get it swiped up. All this happened though without any network connection banners.

Same problem here. Sometimes the device takes ages for waking from lock screen.

It pretty much looks like this is similar issue which I had when I was unable to end call because screen was not responsive. For that I got an advice to cover the proximity sensor briefly to "wake the device up". That works also when the lock screen is unresponsive when I dig my phone from my purse.
