Wanted: App Rights Management [duplicate]
Am I the only user who finds app rights management a necessity? Up to now I do not see any possibility to control/restrict the access rights of applications and any applications seems to be able to access any personal data (like addresses, gps position [if option is globally turned on], calendar data).
I want a access rights manager, where I can check on/off which rights any application is granted. Moreover it would be a nice feature that the manager offers the option to configure wether access is granted, restricted oder asked-for (at the moment app demands access).
Serveral collegues of Mine didn't buy Android Phones until e.g. Huawei Ascend P6 was the first phone to provide "Data Access Management". I'm not beeing paranoid here - but I do keep sensitive business data on my phone (e.g. calendar appointments) as an car engineer in research and development. Until Access Management is available Jolla/Android Phones are no option as business phone for me (Still keeping my Nokia E6 alive until then). There's no way company policies accepts devices without Data Access Management. So this feature is mandatory in my opinion.
No you are not the only one. This question looks like a duplicate of https://together.jolla.com/question/9670/api-security-model/ and https://together.jolla.com/question/10925/add-rights-management-for-native-apps/. If you agree, please close the question.
Neo ( 2014-01-07 23:55:51 +0200 )editI'm willing to close the question ... but I couldn't read what the author meant in "https://together.jolla.com/question/9670/api-security-model/" -> this it just to abstract for me as a non super crack user and also (therefore?) seems to have only 40 followers. Do all the other users read from this question that it's about an operating system wide professional rights management. I couldn't but I'm willing to subordinate the question in behalf of the community. And "https://together.jolla.com/question/10925/add-rights-management-for-native-apps/" quoted that only rights-management is wanted for native apps ... what about all the android apps - that's far less than what I meant. Close the question? Opinions welcome!

Mohjive ( 2014-01-08 01:50:59 +0200 )editLets wait and see for one-two more days ... I'll close the question if I see that I really seem to be one of the very few "non supercrack users" here that seem not to understand deeply low-level software related discussions, OK?
bronco_at_jolla ( 2014-01-08 02:04:54 +0200 )editYou are not the only one. Never mind the duplicate question, exposes the issue. Pre-release I have stated several times on TMO to be expecting a full blown per application rights management. A mobile phone contains at least as sensitive as and more, personalized data than the average desktop.
