whenever I pull the Jolla out of a pocket, purse or from the table without looking it ends up in my hands with the top of the screen at the bottom. this is like drawing a sword and pointing the grip at the dragon, very embarrassing. why is that so? can you fix the balance or so for its successor please?

It's like the phone equivalent of USB cables. You have to orient it three times before you get it right. :)

It must be the USB connection at the top. Besides the N9 most of us are used to have it at the bottom and therefore it ends there. :)

I assume you're located in the southern hemisphere. The current version of Jolla phone is designed for use in the northern hemisphere only. Maybe this can be considered in the region settings in a future release.

Be patient and wait for the 360° turning feature (portrait/landscape/portrait/landscape). Then your problem will be solved -- as long as you do not couple the device orientation when grasped with the screen orientation.

Maybe you used to have a phone with volume buttons on the left side? As the only tactile feature on the phone I would imagine one unconsciously uses it for orientation.
