workaround for missing calendar led notifications? [answered]

Surprisingly there isn't an led notification for missed calendar events. That's a pity; I am really missing this feature! There is already a feature request on this issue: trigger LED when calendar events missed
It is possible to add missing (Android) apps to the list of led triggering chat applications: [feature-request] Add Missing Apps to the chat application list, and it is possible to trigger custom led patterns: How to make a custom led pattern?
Can we combine the information from these links to build a workaround for the missing calendar led notifications?
