What are the options for 'lpmui-triggering'?

asked 2015-11-18 22:15:15 +0200

I recently started playing around with the mce-tools. The "low power mode/glance screen" seems interesting, but having the phone constantly using proximity sensor drains the battery.

Can I make the "lpm-ui" trigger by a double tap or a single powerkey press rather than from-pocket? The --help says the options are <bit1>[,<bit2>], which isn't really helpful.

Try mcetool --long-help, it gives more information.

--set-lpmui-triggering=<bit1[,bit2][...]>
set the low power mode ui triggering; valid bits are:
'disabled', 'from-pocket' and 'hover-over'

Thanks! Are these the only options? Is it not possible to trigger lpm via a button press or a double tap?

Those seem to be the only options. (I don't know anything more than what the help says.)

I have it set to from-pocket and hover-over, and I haven't noticed any significant battery drain. Of course it does consume some. But battery still lasts all day.

Your proximity sensor is working always anyway. Surprise!

Not with ps-mode=disabled, I suppose, so this doesn't solve my problem. Thanks anyway :)

Silly me, I thought ps was useless but then I accidentally closed a call :) Okay, if ps is always on, I quess I'll just go with from-pocket.
