With the recent news coming in + the tablet delays I think it's time Jolla give us a proper blog post about what is happening ? Is this ship really sinking ? What are your plan? Can you continue with Sailfish OS development ? IF this is true then talk to us but with solid facts, not some blurry information. As a community how can we help you ? Do you required an Indiegogo campaign to keep Sailfish alive while looking for investors and partners because me and many others sailors is willing to do so ? But what we want from Jolla is its full transparency!

The only way to keep something alive for ever is to open source it. HW is a problem that cannot be solved by the community (neither is SW -period- but thats another subject). If jolla finds the money -which i somehow expect- since no sane investor expects something like this to start paying back in two years.

The community cannot do much at the moment. Its up to finding money.

Comms is being prepared. We are aware Jolla needs to comment on this. Thanks for your concern and I'll be sharing the info the moment it's ready.

Update: the press release is out here (and here in Finnish), and as I understand there will be a blog post early next week to explain more.

How about a new crowdfunding campaign? Hell we could even gather money with bitcoin/dogecoin! Let the community help. Let's show the world the People Powered Jolla!

EDIT: Here's a few suggestions:

Bitcoin crowdfunding with multisig wallet.
Invesdor crowdinvesting campaign
Indiegogo/kickstarter crowdfunding campaign

I really like SFOS and would pay money for further development... Consequently, I think there will be other that would participate to support SFOS. People powered!

I fear and think the "horse is death"

I am amongst other crowdfounders which gave their money for the tablet a long time ago

After that we only read and hear about technical problems, drawbacks and time problems. Now we are a long time after doing this and we have:

Jolla in existentially financial trouble
no dates for delivering our pre-paid product
no statement of the CTO for a future of Jolla
no worthy contracts between Jolla and cell operators or resellers of hardware
no perspective and time frame for nothing
hardware manufacturer of the tablet does not deliver because Jolla paid not the bills ??

I fear they have burnt all the money and have nothing in the hands in between.

For myself I realize that my money is lost and that there will be NO plan or exact dates for nothing else

I am very disappointed about this, but I think it is better to face the reality than living in purple dreams

Nevertheless I wish Jolla and all staff and friends a good and liveworth future and ALL LUCK!
