Hi babba22 Just had the same question, but didn´t know this post. - In a nutshell: It seems to work for me now, using the Protonmail-App on my Jolla, with the latest OS (SF 2.0.4.14). - Tested sending and receiving mails, which all works fine for me.- Haven´t tested notification yet. I downloaded Protonmail-App 1.5.5 from Aptoide Appstore just now. - First the app crashed as soon as I i.e. tried to write a new mail. - But this was fixed by giving Android-Apps access to contacts (Android-Support within the Settings). - Hope this helps.

No. Protonmail doesnt support the usual mail protocols, yet.

note that:

  • according to that page, Protonmail Bridge (the local daemon that makes an IMAP interface for Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.) will eventually get ported to linux
  • protonmail have historically made their source open, so chances are that their Bridge will be too

Thus it could be eventually possible to make a Sailfish version of the bridge, to forward to the regular app over IMAP.

On Openrepos.net you can find a very basic Protonmail Webapp client.

EDIT: The client is obsolete since QtWebkit is too old for Protonmail's cryptographic features and UI.

Cant find it at openrepo's. Can you point towards it Dylan?

The client is obsolete, sorry. I will update my answer :)

For my understanding, even if we want to make a native app, we(Jolla) first need to update QtWebkit?

Indeed if you want a Webapp. A native app isn't possible yet due the closed API, they promised to open it up soonTM.
