What is community wishing/waiting from Jolla in the coming year? New devices, partnerships, something particular in software development?

What is the point of yet another wishlist? Jolla has paid exactly zero attention to all previous ones, what makes you think adding another one would make a difference?

  1. My Jolla Tablet
  2. At least one fully supported modern Android Phone (one plus or anything else), because there are no original Jolla phones
  3. Jolla 2 - let it be exactly the same phone on the outside, but with modern SOC, more RAM and a higher res (720p) screen (and let's dream big - smaller screen borders). - That's not an expectation, cause they aren't into hardware anymore, but it would be awesome to get an updated version of Jolla - compatible with the other halves.
  4. SFOS 2.1 better suited for one-handed usage and taking into account criticism of SFOS 2.0 (not expecting that one too :()
  5. SFOS 2.x which is finally stable and without freezes and animation stutter - really hope to see one.

  1. better usb mode handling, no workaround with ssh, see how it worked on N900
  2. better PIM tools (calender: week view, list of upcoming events, notes in contacts and events

None, I don't line myself up for disappointment by having expectations.

Paid apps

https://together.jolla.com/question/6522/harbourstore-support-for-paid-applications/

way overdue. Jolla needs some revenue and the app developers deserve to get something out of their hard work.

I don't think the most important part of paid apps is that jolla can make some money out of them, but that the ecosystem needs high quality apps. And I think revenue is the best way to attract developers to build high quality apps.

Offline navigation or native HERE Maps port. Just wishes, not expecting these to happen.

I'm with you! That's the only reason why I use Android support on my Jolla.

Basically what we need is someone to port maps.me to SFOS. The code is there.

That's included in my "endorsed patches" suggestion. Many shortcomings in SFOS might be addressed with existing patches.

  1. Full-featured SFOS ported to multiple devices/platforms (including tablets) with official support
  2. Professional software ecosystem and market (with paid apps support plus quality assessment)
  3. Enhanced operating system (built-in cryptography, enterprise-grade messaging & data sharing, fixed persistent bugs, endorsed patches)

(1) and (2) above may contribute, if well managed, to consolidate Jolla's financial status and make it self-supported through adequate partnerships and business agreements. This would facilitate point (3).

Hope that Jolla would offer possibility to pay for Android support and other features to get full Sailfish OS for other manufacturer devices (Fairphone 2, Puzzlephone etc). Through paid apps in Jolla Store or via some other channel.

Fix usability regressions made in Sailfish 2.0 (listed over and over again on this site).

When I say fix, I don't mean switch back to 1.x UI. I get that that ship has sailed. I mean create ways to get around the bad changes in 2.0 with settings or other ways to customize the UI.

depending on what happens to the tablet I would wish for seperate UI concepts for phone and tablet

Open, trusted and real true communication from Jolla HQ to the community. No blab and no secrecy. Fair-play game.

Ongoing support and development of sailfish os for jolla phone. Adding/integrating most wanted features to the os. Grow slow and healthy, establish models that generate income from curent os (an idea could be paid apps in app store with a percentage for jolla or own developed apps for sale rhere )

Given what happened in the last month, I set the bar low and expect them to simply survive another year, and keep delivering updates to this awesome OS. :)
