hi sailors, awhile ago, calendar sync would not work. I tried this workaround which seemed to work, but not for long. Deleting the folder where local calendar data are stored, would not change much either. Since, my calendar (Jolla > Google) will not sync. Other direction, (Google>Jolla) syncs fine however. Loading time is excessive, too. Startup calendar takes 2 minutes or more until it shows any events..

I have the same problems:

  • calendar app launches and shows event marks on some dates in month view
  • after a few seconds all marks from google calendar disappears
  • after 1 or 2 minutes marks of events in google calendar appears again (with new entries)

Thanks for the report.

Can you please follow these steps (requires Developer Mode to be enabled):

1) Check that /etc/systemd/journald.conf has RateLimitInterval=10s and RateLimitBurst=5000 - if not, set them, and then reboot your device

2) restart the sync daemon with extra debug logging enabled

 systemctl --user stop msyncd
 MSYNCD_LOGGING_LEVEL=8 devel-su -p msyncd

3) leave that running, and open a new terminal in which to collect logs:

 devel-su journalctl -af | grep google-cal

4) leave that running, now trigger a sync with Google via Settings|Accounts->Long press Google->Sync.

After a couple of minutes, the sync should be complete, please copy the logs from the journalctl terminal and send them to chris dot adams at jolla dot com and I will investigate the issue.

the damn thing does not accept >systemctl --user stop msyncd MSYNCD_LOGGING_LEVEL=8 devel-su -p msyncd< (auth failed) even with a freshly generated password. however, RateLimitInterval was 30s is 10, RateLimitBurst was 300 is 5000 now. sorry, I am not Linux savvy..
