Content dependent input language
There are ideas of muli-pred-dict, etc...but what I am thinking about is something much simpler - context dependent input language selection.
The simplest possible is to bind preferred language with each contact, and then when sending text message that language should be used.
Imagine this situation (which happened to me few times). I was texting actively with two friends, but in two different languages. The problem is that I had to switch back and forth all the time, because once I got message from one I replied, then I got message from the other one, and so on.
I think binding input language to contact language or conversation language (in case of conference) is brilliant idea. And I think you'd be first to implement it.
Another context is webpages. When visiting Polish webpage it is very likely I want to type in Polish, whie on all other websites I'd use English.
I wonder if it would be possible to have this feature also within Android apps. I'm sorry to tell you that, but I prefer Opera over Jolla browser...
An interesting idea but needs some thought:
I can see a problem right away. For someone who is e.g. French, Polish would be "all other websites".
Also, I have contacts in at least 5 countries but I do not speak all five languages. For example, an automatic switch to Italian would be useless to me.

Hence I would agree to getting the same language preset on my keyboard as the website is tagged with. And maybe we could improve the idea by setting a preferred language per contact.

lakutalo ( 2016-01-30 12:45:09 +0300 )editToo much interaction, I do not want to set anything, if the keyboard does not remember on its own this feature becomes useless, when starting a conversation I want to start typing, not choose an input language, and that language might change as we decide to use another language we both know better (that happens often in business that you find out that you have another language in common). As language change is a swipe away, I just change the language as soon as I need the characters unavailable, or I need auto-completion to become faster.
