As known, Intex es plans for selling abroad (i.e. outside India) are unclear. How about providing a chance for users to buy the device via jolla store?

As far as I know - that is up to Intex not Jolla. Intex have licensed Sailfish OS from Jolla - it is up to them where they want to sell the phone.

So theoretically, jolla buying devices from Intex & reselling them on jolla store could be a possible way (No idea how affordable tho)

@tortoisedoc, remember certification regulatory domains, someone would have to pay to get the device CE certified for europe.

That'd be intex, then, I figure.

Hello tortoisedoc

Right now, I think this is not a good idea. I think all ideas not related to Sailfish OS and its current state as well as the issue with the tablets are not useful RIGHT NOW. They are using resources they don't have or I don't want to see to be used on such things. If you like a phone from INTEX go find a way and buy one there or find a Jolla. There are enough getting sold right now on ebay etc..

Greetings, megalith

Perhaps it's best for the Jolla management team to make decisions on where their limited resources are best spent, no?

Hello r0kk3rz Absolutely right and I think they have done this already as they told us in their last blog.jolla.com entries. If somebody knows something else pls. let the world know ;). Thank you. Kind regard, megalith

I am sure the intex phone will come with a high degree of branding, extra services via the partner page (which will probably only be available/make sense in india) and - most importantly - certainly no developer mode.

Jolla can't (want to) sell that as their own regardless from any legal, financial or practical issues as the user experience will be vastly different (as in: less) from SailfishOS as we know it.

What makes you so sure, do you have evidence for that?

Wow thats strange, could you even use SFOS without developer mode? If they really do that then there is no point in the small market space of geeks in India to buy it. Will someone else buy it for colourful ambiences ? Maybe but that would be very less.

I agree with @pavi here; would be weird not to have developer mode enabled. But still, vendors dictate the rules, so it's a possibility.
