State of split-screen implementation
As this was one of the perks in the tablet Indiegogo campaign and because the whole campaign kind of failed, I can understand if it is not going to be implemented. But I would still like to see an official statement if this feature has been abandoned or not. Was the split-screen implementation started at all? It would have been an awesome feature on the tablet. (The tablet is still awesome, btw).
I have been meaning to ask this question too, from what I could tell from the roadmap, they have it listed in August 2015 as "Define the scope and designs needed for split screen UI implementation", but it either hasn't been done, the roadmap is out of date and/or abandoned.
nadir ( 2016-03-03 14:20:34 +0200 )edit@nadir, not abandoned, but as we all know jolla went into crisis mode and so they haven't really done any longer term planning as it was unclear that they would have a longer term worth planning for.
Their immediate concerns were funding, and getting the Intex phone ready for MWC and to ship.
On the split-screen, I imagine that work is shelved for the time being, for obvious reasons really.

johanh ( 2016-03-03 14:31:22 +0200 )edit"...I can understand if it is not going to be implemented...." hum. a promise is promise.
cemoi71 ( 2016-03-03 14:46:28 +0200 )editBut according to the resources and charge, i think it is ok if it is not developed with the highest priority.
But for me it should stay in main requirements. That's one of the unlike part of sfos.
@r0kk3rz yes, abandoned is a strong word, more like not highly prioritised as actual implementation of things being more important.
