Update (09.04.2016):
Small instruction how to install Kodi app on your Jolla tablet.
http://ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de/xbmc/releases/android/arm/old/kodi-14.2-Helix-armeabi-v7a.apk
2. Install it with any file manager. I used FileTug app.
3. Start it -> setup it -> and use it :)
4. If you have Google play or any other android stores, remember to disable auto-update on Kodi app.

I already tried to upgrade to many different versions of 15, 16 and 17 (both x86 and armeabi-v7a).. But no one is worked.
Hope one day, someone will create native Kodi app for SailfishOS...

Original post:
Hi to all.
Someone know how to make this app (Kodi) work on our tablet ?
It installed from Google play without any problem, but when I start it, I get this error:
This Kodi package is not compatible with your device (device=arm vs. package=x86). Please check Kodi Android Wiki for more information.
kodi-16.0-Jarvis-armeabi-v7a.apk kodi-16.0-Jarvis-x86.apk
First can't be installed and second one installed without any problem like from Google play, but on start I also get the same error.
I also tried to install lowest version from Aptoide store, but get the same result.
Any Idea how to make it work ?
Thanks

Apparently Kodi supports Wayland (at least experimentally), you could try and build a native kodi app with the wayland support enabled. How you would do that I don't know.

I now read the failure message again. That's really strange. It clearly states that you try to install a x86 package on an arm device. But the tablet isn't an arm device. Maybe there is something wrong with some linked libraries?

I'm glad you manged to install kodi. Indeed, it's really strange that you had to use the arm package. Are you sure you have the "real" x86 Jolla tablet (the Jolla tablet should be a x86 shouldn't it?!)! Or is there anybody else here that can explain that?!

Yep, it's weird... I still hope my tablet is real :) I will ask this question in a new thread...

I had a similar problem while I tried to install Kodi on Jolla phone. I managed to install Kodi 14.2 though by using this apk http://ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de/xbmc/releases/android/arm/old/kodi-14.2-Helix-armeabi-v7a.apk

You could try to install the corresponding x86 apk on tablet http://ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de/xbmc/releases/android/x86/old/kodi-14.2-Helix-x86.apk

I think the 15.x and 16.x versions are compiled with some libs from android 5.x and the alien dalvik from Jolla devices is only 4.1.2.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for answer. But after installation, on start I still get the same error...

I presume you tried the x86 package, am I correct? If so, it's probably a problem with the package itself. I don't own the tablet but I always thought it to be x86 architecture (as opposed to Jolla's phone arm architecture). The 14.2 arm package installed without problems on my phone so it has to work somehow. On the other hand there should be a chance to get Kodi compiled for Sailfish natively. It runs on many Linux distributions so why not on sailfish itself? I always wanted to try that, but never found the time for that.

Ah, just saw your comment above. So maybe someone else volunteers to compile a native sailfish package ;-) I'd appreciate that too.

Ohhh, I don't believe, but finally I installed it and it work! :)
naytsyrhc, thanks for your links. Version 14.2-x86 don't work, but surprisingly version kodi-14.2-Helix-armeabi-v7a.apk installed and loaded without any problem on my tablet.
I also tried to upgrade to many different versions of 15.0 and 16 and 17.. But no one is worked.
I'm happy with 14.2, no time to setup it :)
Very weird why x86 not work...

P.S. If someone have Google play installed, don't forget to disable auto-update on Kodi app ;)
