At the beginning I had no problem with this. But now the more apps I install the longer it takes to get back to the homescreen. If I am at the end of my apps, I need four swipes to see my active apps again and to enter the pulley menu. It would be nice when there were a gesture to get back to the homescreen.

Sooner or later there's going to be folders for apps, which is going to make this easier. But I also, with only two screens of apps, sometimes feel it's a looong way to the pulley menu. (The empty lock screen with just the clock and a couple of icons feels a waste - should they be incorporated into the home screen? Okay, I guess this is a separate issue.)

Yes, the lock screen shouldn't be there when phone is open. Now the pulley menu is too far away from home. Pulley should be right on top of home screen (with time etc). Then we wouldn't need short cut buttons below (gestures, no buttons). Even more so when covers are pinned as someone suggested.

Why not a swipe from the edge to get back to home? that woukld be the most intuitive IMO.

Folders should be in place within a month so I would just wait ;-)

Do You have more Infos than I have? I've never read, that anybody has confirmed that folders are coming at all. Or is it you, who will bring us folder support?

For sake of consistency, we should just be able to do like everywhere else on the UI, just pull from the side to go home!

You don't need four swipes. Easier way to go to home screen: swipe from bottom of screen to notification screen and do the same once more (it can be done very fast).

Thats true, so homescreen is just two swipes away - Thanx! Anyway i don't find that really intuitive. I would find it better, if there would be an extra gesture for that action.

Agree with you.

I guess that's why the Nokia N9 had the swipe from left to right or right to left.

IMO Jolla should add a Pullup menu at the bottom at least to get back to home screen.

I thought about the double tap, for getting back. But I don't really know, if that is a good idea.

a bottom screen pully with a single home or go to top function

But pully action is started from inside the screen, so scrolling upwards isn't possible anymore.

@teun That would be suitable if you are on the last screen with apps, but what if you are on the second, third or fourth and it is not the last one?

With the release of Sailfish OS 2.0 (actually since v. 1.1.9.x) the UI has been changed to a carousel so you are able to access the app drawer with a swipe from the bottom up, which solves this request.

Universal global gesture shortcuts would be a better approach, see https://together.jolla.com/question/29642/customizable-gestures/
