About the "C" model just released:
(1) Will basic accessories be actually available? (batteries, cases, TOH etc.)
(2) Will existing apps need to be recompiled for its Snapdragon CPU?
(3) Will it be shipped with Aliendalvik?
(4) Why only one thousand units?

Hardware does not have support TOH connectors and the backcover size is different than in Jolla1.
Existing Jolla1 apps do not need to be recompiled. If UI guidelines have been followed in implementation of the apps (usage of UI constants, dynamic layouts.. ) then in majority of cases UI should scale to different resolution and screen size without any changes.
Alien Dalvik is not preloaded, but is available as download from Jolla Store.

So did I, mainly as a lifeboat just in case. My Jolla model one will still be my main device, with one spare battery, the excellent Insmat leather case and its convenient 4.5” display.

I understand this is a (very) limited community device, with only 1,000 units available.
However, I believe Jolla and Sailfish need a massively marketed H/W platform, urgently. Confining SFOS in a niche segment would involve a major risk to disappear completely. So, again, will this device be available (later) on a larger scale?
You can bet this is another experiment, if they really wanted to make the Aquafish available in Europe they would have done it, instead they're dressing it up as a 'thank you' to the community (?!?) well, can thank me for having put up with sub-standard hardware, they could have thanked all those disappointed at having paid for a tablet that never turned up by compensating them in some way. They want to get SFOS ' out there ' then deal with companies that have no intention of supplying the European market, way to go Jolla. As has been pointed out forever, they need paid apps to encourage dev's to make them, otherwise we'll be stuck in this cycle of second rate hardware and second rate apps to go with it, before we end up in a worse state than Ubuntu mobile. . . . . . . .

So it's an Intex. . . . . . well the spec's are ok, and better than the current hardware, 5'' screen and dual sim is a few years late but better late than never I suppose. I won't be buying one, I am sticking to my principals and not spending any more on a phone Jolla have anything to do with, they've shown poor support all round and put out lacking hardware, they've made the right choice sticking to making the OS the priority, they are useless with hardware and related support so best out of it. I feel sorry for the folks that invested in the fairytale of a tablet, glad I didn't, suddenly announcing 1000 phones across Europe will seem like a p*ss take to some. Maybe I'll pick one up S/H off of ebay in a few months, maybe I'll wait 'til a decent 'brand' takes the plunge and puts SFOS out on some hardware with backup, spares and support......

What about battery life? It's like Aqua Fish, max 8h talk/250h standby?
Red colour is definitely the only one? :-/
Yeah, Jolla, it would be a smart move to change the cover color, to differentiate it from regular Aqua Fish phones and make it stand out more as a community participation perk and a collector's edition. (Please note, I'm definitely not suggesting this because orange is hideous and doesn't fit well with any other color. Of course not!)

Thanks for summing up all the questions. Concerning #3: The product specs state: "Pure Sailfish OS 2.0 compatible with Android™ apps" - that sounds a lot like the classic Alien Dalvik we are used to.
