IHMO it would be great if one could save (or print if you like) the content of a webpage as a PDF file. And once such a mechanism is implemented, it could/should be usable for other apps, too.

Just recently I got an SMS with a link to a webpage with an online train ticket. Works great as long as you have got an internet connection. Screenshot does not work for scrolling content. There are plenty more use cases around here, I guess.

this leads me to the idea, that it would be nice to send content to a printer also ...

Yes, that's true. But albeit wanting that I didn't want to go down the printer driver road. Many modern printers can even print out a PDF directly. On the other hand PDF support will probably come with a printer subsystem...

Quick solution: a convenient way to have "save web page to PDF" is by using the mobile version of the Firefox browser (previously also known as Fennec on Maemo). It's been included since ages and you don't need a plug in or add on for that.

This PDF function is one of the main reasons to install this nice piece of -sadly now Android exclusive- browser software on Jolla.

Downside is that you have no option but to install the Android subsystem on your Jolla if you haven't already.

It is strange why not more people want it as a standard feature and even stranger why not more mobile browsers offer this possibility as standard, often life saving, feature. Even the very business style Blackberry 10 has forgotten (?) to include this feature in OS or browser.

This is essential either pdf or some other universal alternative format. The pseudo printer seems to be the most generally useful method like Adobe use, but it is most important to be able to create pdf at least from a website. The problem is most Firefox addons I have used have limitations and crash or miss out certain types of web content.
