Has anybody else noticed hiccups in UI navigation on his Jolla C? It's particularly noticeable with ComboBox controls and page transitions and I was wondering if that's due to the early access nature of the OS build or if anything else is at fault. On my Jolla 1 running 2.0.1 everything animates fluidly, no problems whatsoever.

yes, if you search this forum you will find an earlier post concerning the lag. The Jolla C unfortunately is equipped with an inferior gpu in comparison to the Jolla 1. It has to drive a bigger screen and more pixels. So that is probably the main reason.

I couldn't really find anything about UI performance on here, that's why I asked. Anyway, I didn't expect Jolla C to have an inferior GPU, but I've looked it up and yes, it's Adreno 304 vs 305 in Jolla 1 + the bigger screen -> that explains it pretty well.

This is also a one reason I guess:

I just got my Jolla C today and the first thing that I noticed was the poor scrolling performance in lists etc. like it was on the first Jolla with default GPU governor setting. So I searched the governor file on the C and the location is

sys/devices/soc.0/1c00000.qcom,kgsl-3d0/kgsl/kgsl-3d0/devfreq/governor

and once you change it to "performance" the phone feels smooth like its supposed to be No idea of the effect on battery life or anything but on the first Jolla it didnt make much of a difference IMO

Well, I've done the governor mod a couple of days ago, along with the cpu clock mod and frankly, I hardly notice any improvement at all! It's still laggie in some areas. Of course I've checked if the mods were succesfull. I really think the Jolla team should have put in a better GPU. To me it feels like a cheap experience now. So in my view the Jolla 1 is definetely the better phone experience.

Interesting, I didn't know about that. Might try it out in the future.
