hullo group, since 2.0.2.48, Jolla seems to be easily accessible for Macs. Android File Transfer just opened a Finder window osxFinder.jpg and I can copy files to and from. (Hope it's consistent..)

That was a very simple how-to. ;)

call it a feature, if it's consistent. I am quite happy about it actually, after a long long wait! Very useful indeed. Thank you Jolla.

Interesting! It really works with Jolla 1. [EDIT] Also works with Jolla C on 2nd try :)

Btw: To make it clearer I changed the title & added a tag to your post - hope it's ok with you.

Pity it is a software from Google. :(

negative side effect: After having accessed my Jolla via Android File Transfer, the (non-Google) Software of my USB Scanner will hang. (vueScan, Apple's Software yet to try)

As far as i know, an android file transfer for Mac app could detect everything on your phone, you can use it to transfer data between phone and computer, there're many this kind of app, try Coolmuster Android Assistant for Mac

hullo group, yes - that was a simple howto, but as of updating to Sailfish OS 2.0.4.14, Android File Transfer WILL NOT WORK ANYMORE. Jolly asks me what I want, OSX 'Photos' will fire up and show photos, but no finder windows to access any files easily. Plus 'total commander', a app that can connect via MTP, does not work either. what a total pity!

@danfin please give a look here or here if something may be useful for you...
The cyberduck variant is with sftp under devel-mode. And XNJB should be with mtp (but i don't know if it works).

seems to be different kind of mtp versions. I had different test with different mtp variant for my ubuntu here.
i guess it don't help directly. But with this maybe you may find something acceptable or an other beginning for a search.

Otherwise, there is solutions like Airdroid (https://www.airdroid.com) an android app which is available on aptoide for jp1 too.
That make your phone as web-desktop if you are connected to it through wifi.
There a native app with same philosophy but is really minimalist Sailserver. If the dev or someone else may improve the experience with it. that would be the highlight

I am back to sailserver... But I really enjoyed the comfort of Android File Transfer pop open a OSX-Finder window when connecting my Jolly.

??jolly??
And what is with airdroid from aptoide market? did you tried it? By me it works, but i didn't try all the functions. And as i told, is an android app :-( but it works :-)

Funny that, under Sailfish OS 2.0.4.14, the OSX photo apps will pop open automatically, showing the content of the images folder in these apps, but the file system does not show anything like a connect..

An android data backup app could transfer everything from your phone to computer, you need to connect your phone to computer and start the app, then the app would detect your phone data automatically, you can select and check those data you want to backup.

Many people use iCloud to sync iPhone’s photos via “Photo Stream” feature. But its limitations of the service cannot satisfied many people’s need. People turn to look for other platforms for storing the photos, such as Android device. So questions about how to transfer iCloud photos to Android are increasingly common. - See more at:
