MAGEEC project MAchine Guided Energy Efficient Compilation http://mageec.org
MAGEEC aims to combine work on compilation options which save energy with work on machine learning to create a compiler framework, capable of generating code that has improved energy efficiency. MAGEEC is an open project with active community involvement, and to participate, use the project wiki, in depth updates on the project can be found on the project blog, with ongoing discussion on the mailing list.
The project has four key goals:
- It will optimize for energy
- It will use physical measurement of energy usage, not models.
- It will be compiler agnostic—initially targeting GCC and LLVM
- It will deliver a working system, not just research papers.
etc... solving excessive energy consumption
i hope, already kwown from jolla engineers staff. factory required to use for jolla /SailfishOS staff engineers software optimizing phone app should be better than other brand :-)
@redge73 I can't really find any question in your post to answer to?
simo ( 2014-01-13 11:52:22 +0200 )editI'll take this under skunkworks wing. Interesting proposal.
Stskeeps ( 2014-01-15 21:57:03 +0200 )editHope would live inside Jolla /SailfishOS near soon beast all others Brands on battery life/power efficent with care all overall SoC power gpu/cpu/chipset performance !
redge73 ( 2014-01-17 01:35:50 +0200 )editsimo, i did convert as wiki, sorry for late answer, you are right, is not real question but feature hope soon available after foosdem event 1 or 2 month later ! Making Jolla/SailfishOS better than any other brand on optimized software with battery life inside core SailfishOS :-)
