[wiki] Improvement suggestions for the current media player

Hello,
I'm an owner of the jolla since the beginning. I'm using it as my main smartphone since then. Sailfish is really a nice OS, and there has been a lot of improvements in 3 years.
When I'm driving my car, I use it to stream music on my car stereo. But I think the media player needs improvements. Here's a list with th current version (sailfish 2.0.2.48) :
- there is still a bug with the flac files (the tags are empty or the files are seen as videos) :
- the tracks in the album view are ordered by track number, omiting the disk number. If you're listening to a 2 disks album, they are played in the wrong order (d01t01 then d02t01 then d01t02, d02t03, and so on)
- the album id should be used to compare albums, and not only the album name. For example, the group Weezer has 4 albums named "Weezer", which are shown as a same item in the media player.
- There should be an option to only show the artists list in the albumartist tag (it is currently using the artist tag). For those who don't want to see all the artists featured in one track or all the various artists in a compilation.
- Add the possibility to create a temporary playlist, like the media player of the nokia n9. You add artists or albums or tracks to the playlist and you can listen to it directly. Really useful with long distance trips.
- The music player should resume playing a music where it stopped
- The music player should send media metadata over bluetooth
- Release the media player under an open source licence.
I think that the handling of 'Various artists' albums needs some thought, and some options. I like having the track artists appearing in the artist index, so that should be an option. But when you select that album I'd like just that artist's track(s) - maybe another option. And I'd like 'Various artists' to appear in the artist index too, and if I select the album from there it should show all tracks. (Been wrestling with various combinations of Pete Seeger, Arlo Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, and the Clancy brothers... in one album, this morning!)
And a smart indexer that knows that 'Kate and Anna ...' are the same artists as 'Kate & Anna ...'
And an option to omit the definite article from the artist index, so that "The Doors' is filed as 'Doors'

as you might know its not good practice here to post many complains in one thread, but i think its important here to make a point to why the mediaplayer should be open source. so my suggestion is: make this a wiki and collect and link all the issues from other threads about the media player and if you have sth to add, create a new thread about your problem and then link it here....

Then i agree with you that normally it should be given one thread for one issue.
But that is for the case a system with complex usability and lot's of feature.
Here he limits it just for the media player, and furthermore just for its usability.
Imho that really ok. Not to flood tjc with mini issues which could be grouped for the team/dev in charge.
Separate thread are good, but done to the extreme are then not so good... ;-)
@cemoi71 well, i think such a collection thread should be a wiki, as i think collecting all the problems is a group effort.. unless @Toniob really wants to go deep in this and collect everything themselves. i would like to add things here too as i have posted problems aboutt the player before.
and if this is not a collection thread, then there are already duplicates here.... (play list was requested before, the flac problems were posted and in the comments here by @malibu1106 - the sound problems with GUI use have also been reported). i would really consider this duplicate if its not a collection thread....
