Hi, I'm just playing around with my new Aqua Fish and I was wondering why I can't see the whole file/folder structure of the device when mounted true USB (or paired with Bleutooth) on one of my Linux machines?

When I normally mount other Linux devices even true USB I get the whole structure beginning from / .

Security reasons?

I dont know if it's related to mtp, but you can enable developer mode and use sftp ;-)

Probably, but I'm living (for the moment) in a non wifi area, so I can't enable the developer mode and make a Jolla account.

Do you know if ssh also will work?

You can create account and install dev mode via cellular data as well. And yes, then you can see all fs starting from /

Using a terminal on the device itself should work too.

Where would we be without terminal :) Sadly it's not set as standard app in Sailfish, I know I can always install it

short: it's mtp and the media is under /home on btrfs. Mounting as USB Mass Storage the /home must be unmounted first... and that is not a good idea! Long: https://together.jolla.com/question/10002/alternative-to-mtp-usb-mass-storage/

I agree, it's an action to be taken at our own risk.
