Use SFTP if you have developer mode enabled, it should work.
Dont know what's the problem with MTP, i dont have access to a GNU/Linux computer these days to try out...

By which method are you transferring the files?
lakutalo ( 2016-10-02 12:43:49 +0200 )editsimply with usb cable by copying or drag n dropping files into my jolla which is perfectly recognized by korora...if i transfer an mp3 i have no problem at all...if i transfer an m4a i get an mtp error...
247 ( 2016-10-02 15:06:17 +0200 )editConfirmed on SUSE with xfce (Jolla C 2.0.2.51)
DaveRo ( 2016-10-02 17:37:59 +0200 )editConverted an mp4 to m4a with ffmpeg.
Can copy the mp4 to Jolla but m4a fails "libmtp error" "Could not send object"
The wiki page about MTP has a section "restrictive list of possible file formats:
DaveRo ( 2016-10-02 20:02:00 +0200 )edithttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media_Transfer_Protocol#Restrictive_list_of_possible_file_formats
which suggests that Jolla sends a list of supported file formats, and m4a isn't included.
Marking this as a bug.
I put the m4a video on the Jolla C (with sftp). File manager gives its mime type as audio/mp4 (as does SUSE linux) and plays the audio track.
Even if Jolla doesn't recognise it as a video it should not, IMO, prevent you transferring it with MTP.
