Hello there, I travelled to China with my Jolla Phone. I inserted a chinese sim/phone-card (china unicom 4G) but I have no network coverage. In the settings mobile network, it says network denied or it is searching... Can someone help me?

I have 3 ideas:

1: 1 month ago, I had no problems with unicom G4 in china, but after coming back, put in my old SIM, there was no way to get the network up. After trying some times i figured out, that the shortcut in the eventsview window "connect to internet" did the job. Don't know, what's different here, but since I have network.

2: in settings mobile network you can try to use the pull down menu for the APN and choose reset to default

3: here in Germany I can use 2 providers with my SIM, but my jolla had all times grayed out the second provider, so I was not able to choose it. The solution was to insert the SIM one time to an android phone, there I could choose the 2nd provider. Taking SIM back to jolla, all was fine...

Interesting! I am going to mainland China next week and want to use a local SIM with my Jolla phone for mobile data. However, on a previous trip to Indonesia, I wasn't able to use a SIM card from any Indonesian provider. Now I would consider to buy a cheap Android phone for trips like these, but if it works with Jolla, all the better! Which Chinese SIM would you advise? Any tips to make it work well? (and what about the great chinese firewall?)
