SDK - Failed to start virtual machine "SailfishOS Emulator"

I just installed the latest version of the SDK and got the above error message when starting the emulator. The build engine works/runs OK. I work on a Debian GNU/Linux system (stretch/sid) using debian's virtubalbox package (Version: 5.1.6-dfsg-2+b1). I use libvirt on the same machine too and that works nicely. Any ideas?

Just noticed the following line in dmesg:

nspr-4[XXXX]: segfault at 35 ip 0000000000000035 sp 00007f39462f3d08 error 14 in VBoxSVC[400000+482000]

You can also check ~/.config/VirtualBox/VBoxSVC.log

I tried to run the emulator by starting it using VBs GUI. Too my surprise that worked just fine. Then I stopped the emulation and tried to start it using the SDK again and now that works too. So for now I consider this solved but will leave the item open for a while.
