I had my normal photos in the gallery (screenshots, camera, texting apps, email apps..) when after copying /home/android_storage to external SD Card for backup caused all offline mapping tiles to be added.

Now i have like 8000 images - whats going on there?

Hei,

Assuming you still want to backup your data to the SDCard, you might have two obvious choices:

  1. Either you store your backup in a hidden folder (name starting with a dot) - I am doing this.
  2. Or add an empty file named .nomedia to the folders that have images you don't want to see in the Gallery.

LVPVS out.

when backing up (copying android_storage) to the external SD card the 0byte .nomedia files appear not to be copied over, which partially explains the images now being indexed when before they werent.

How do you allow or force copying of .nomedia files? I dont want to have to individually copy them every time i create a backup.
