Having file manager on the main page of Storage settings will have advantages such as:

  1. Faster access to files, especially on internal storage;
  2. Possibility to transfer files between internal and external storage;
  3. Consistent behavior between internal and external storage.

It can be on the pulley or something like "Apps" and "Accounts" in Settings.

I don't think that Storage is meant to be a full blown filebrowser yet, or do you think a hidden in Settings browser is actually a neat idea to use? Filebrowser needs to be a primary app, not some subsection's feature of Settings

My understanding is that the request is about having a shortcut in the Storage settings as an alternative to the standard app icon, to quickly access this functionality when you are likely to need it, e.g. to manually balance usage of partitions. This certainly would require the file manager to become a core app, which I think it currently is not, but in my eyes should be anyways. In this form I would strongly second the idea.

You're right, we should have a file browser as a primary app, but my request is about the current implementation.
