okay wire needs Electron which is available for arm7. I tried to install it from source. I struggled over 7zip. I need a newer version of it but I'm not able to compile it..

Can you share some insights on how to build Electron for SFOS? Given the recent switch to TLS 1.2 that made Wire stop working on any Alien Dalvik version it might be a workaround/intermediate solution to use the Electron app.

Hello, Wire requires android 4.2 or above. On Jolla 1, aliendalvik is android 4.1. So impossible to install on Jolla 1.

On Linux, where there are no desktop clients for Facebook Messenger, Skype, etc. someone has made Electron-clients that use the web-versions of those, and they work pretty much as if they were native desktop apps. So I'm pretty convinced electron could bring support for those to Sailfish, removing the need to use Android apps for everything!
