what network mode (2g/3g/4g) is your phone on before and during the call? 2g does only allow data or call, and 4g does support data only

It is usually on 4G when this happens.

@Venemo: Check two things: Does it find a network if you force 3G or 2G only? And: When you're in a voice call, what does the network indicator show?

If you're on 4G, the phone needs to fall back to either 3G or 2G for voice calls. (4G phones do this, except both the phone and the operator support voice over LTE.) If it can log into a 3G network, everything should be fine and you should be able to have data traffic while in a call. 2G networks cannot do this. They provide either voice or data only. So a valid assumption would be: Phone is in 4G, enters voice call mode, does not find 3G network, falls back to 2G and therefore has to cut data connection in order to maintain the voice call.

@ossi1967: Yes, that's exactly what happens, but then, it did work correctly with the Jolla 1.

I doubt it worked since it is technically impossible. maybe your jolla 1 was in 3g mode at that time
