I use Intex Aqua Fish. I want to disable tap to wake feature but keep double-tap (for zooming pics etc.). Is there any way to do that? If I update to a higher version of the OS in future, would I need to uninstall/revert such modifications?

You have to use mcetools in terminal, for which you have to enable developer mode in settings.

Then try mcetool --help for all the available options.

I guess this is the one you desire: mcetool --set-doubletap-mode=disabled

I used the same command -

mcetool --set-doubletap-mode=disabled

but won't it disable "doubletap" for the entire OS. I want to disable only tap-to-wake feature, not system wide.

@Mohit: it deals with doubletap wakeups only (and has nothing to do how ui interprets tapping when you are actively using some application).

@spiiroin: Ok. Thanks. Then shall i revert this patch if I want to perform system update?

@Mohit: It does not need to be reverted before system updates.

But as the setting does persist over device reboots and sw upgrades, you need to remember having done it if you ever want to get the double tap wakeup working again...
