Why I can not use Sailfish Device as Daily Driver [subjective]
Though I like Sailfish OS and would love to use the Device as daily Driver but but ... I am not able to use Jolla Device Daily. The reasons are...
- Missing Scaling of text which is available in all other mobile OS. This is very important in Phone app and Email App
- No sms forwarding facility.
- No conference Call (Made available in recent update)
- No contact Saving facility for WhatsApp
- very basic level Phone App (tried to use Android App but was not use it successfully as Call log is not synched)
- Lock unlock in 2.0 is very odd (1.0 Unlock was better)
- Some way to enable the Android Widget... Very useful sometimes. Though not very essential. It can also be in form of minimized app or on notification screen like IOS.
- Bluetooth doesn't work well with car audio system
Please contribute your thoughts what else is stopping you from using it as Daily Driver.
- Text scaling should be possible by editing the qml directly, no?
- Where do you want to forward it? I'd say it is possible...
- Just as you said, that's been fixed
- Could be so, I don't know anything about whatsit
- What more would you like from the phone application, it probably is doable...?
- I don't understand, whats wrong with lock/unlock?
- I don't know anything about Android

tvicol ( 2017-01-16 12:31:34 +0300 )editI simply cannot use Jolla as a daily driver because it reboots randomly, mainly when accepting calls. This makes the Jolla to stand in an honor place at my desk... From time to time I decide to give another chance, namely after a system update. It always ends up to moving back to Android or Windows Mobile phones that I have. It's kind of sad to always have to leave my OS of choice because of unreliability problems which is the reason, in the opposite way, why I choose Linux instead of other OS's on desktop.

To unlock in 1.x you just had to swipe upwards twice (and thrice to bring upp the apps launcher); in 2.0 you have to swipe side-ways to unlock.
I agree 1.x was much more to my liking in this fashion and I have understood the alteration for 2.0 was made mainly the Tablet in mind, which is sad.
But it's absolutely nothing to hamper my own, very happy Daily Driving on Jolla 1.
Lack of Band 20/LTE 800 MHz and thus 4G seems to be very effectively holding me back from migrating to use Aqua Fish, though.
