feature request / wish for the email app
The email App should look like this (no white background):
- I prefer reading content over layout/design, especially while reading emails.
- I prefer to be able to read emails without glasses, because text emails are very much too tiny and are not zoom-able.
- I do hate to hit forward/discharge, for being able to read my mails.
- I do not like to get tears in my eyes, by opening emails at night time and switch the whole screen from black to white background.
- I like layout consistency.
How about a switch in settings, for prefer text mails? Function seems anyway in the email app, we cen see after choosing reply or forward.
(The image above is a mixture from email app and tidings app. Tidings also does display websites in Jolla style...I love it)
What do you think about this?
Update: Nothing changed on 2.1.0.9
The white background on text-emails is the worst thing, should be like in any other app transparent.
hoschi ( 2017-02-06 14:07:31 +0200 )edit??? i ask me why you get tears by night when you read mail with dark background
cemoi71 ( 2017-02-06 14:12:29 +0200 )editthe invert one => black note on a white background is really much more hard for the eyes when the room is on the dark too.
Here i guess that is not because of background, but because as you notice before the characters are too small.
I'm not sure if the format of the phone is ideal for this. Ideally would be better on a bigger one like a tablet. And why not ask for a zoom function?
@cemoi71 how did you got the dark background on emails?
poddl ( 2017-02-06 14:22:05 +0200 )editGreat idea. I really REALLY hate the whole concept of HTML e-mails and always send mine as pure text, and I would love to be able to read those that I receive properly as well.
SchröpfeMich ( 2017-02-06 14:58:16 +0200 )edit@poddl oh! now i get it! your problem is not with dark backgrounds, but the white one, because of html format. sorry i referenced me on what you've written, and i don't really use the email function.
cemoi71 ( 2017-02-06 15:21:56 +0200 )editCould you please change this point on your thread? it is a little bit confusing.
Maybe if you try to change the display format from html one to the text one, that could make the deal. i'll try to check it.
